The main purpose of the workshops is to make people aware about the values and principles that are necessary to peace, but by themselves they are not able to generate harmony. We need a very essential component for our times that is to create an alternative of globalization rooted in the organizations of the majority of people.
The globalization represents a neutral phenomenon that has a powerful force created by science and modern technology. Depending of how it is used, it can serve to do the good or to do the bad. With the purpose of benefiting the population in general, the Peace Project is trying to organize the grassroots organizations and favoring its incorporation to a sane technological process.
With this objective in mind, we have started the following steps:
Research. We have visited organizations, NGOs, associations, and cooperatives in Mesoamerica, that have accumulated deep knowledge in relation to the purposes that they have planned to accomplish, reaching very positive results for their affiliates.
Planification. The creation of a comprehensive plan to insure that the knowledge and experiences of the organizations that we have investigated become accessible to other organizations in the region with the end of creating a human base able to generate an alternative of globalization from the people and for the people.
Training. The execution of a plan to provide training to hundreds of leaders through the entire region.
Local projects. Based in the training, individuals and organizations will develop local projects.
Nineteen of the organizations that we have visited are ready to train the members of other organizations that are participating in the Peace Project. We need financing for transportation, housing, and food for the participants and, and a payment for the trainers. Of course, the training without projects is dead letter. We will need to support financially the organizations that become ready to execute what they have learned.
At the end of the trainings and the execution of projects, we will have educated people in sciences and technologies that generate economic power and contribute to building democracies in our countries. This is the major objective of the globalization from the organized base of the people.
